Our Story
Some of you were there for the beginning, some of you joined along the way, and some of you may just be here for the celebration—but either way, here’s how it all started…
Our story began in the most ordinary place- High School. We met in 12th grade at the American International School in Chennai—Isaiah, an adventurous American who had grown up around the world, and Anjana, a Chennai girl with her goals set high. What began as a friendship quietly became something more in the months leading up to graduation. Even then, we knew there was something rare about what we had.
When school ended, life took us in different directions—Isaiah to the United States for college & work, and Anjana to Singapore to pursue fashion. For a brief moment, we let go, thinking distance might make things easier. But just a month apart was enough to realize we couldn’t stay away from each other. What we shared was too meaningful to lose.
We found our way back, and for the next three years, we built our relationship across time zones, through late-night calls, long flights, and a commitment to one another.
Eventually, we found ourselves in the same city again—New York—when Anjana moved there to study at Parsons. But life, as it often does, had other plans. When the world paused during COVID, we were once again separated by continents. And yet, there was never a question for us— no alternative—only a quiet certainty that we were meant to be. In many ways, we guess we had already chosen each other for life.
Now, fourteen years after we first met in a school cafeteria, we are so grateful to be surrounded by the people who have been part of our journey as we prepare to say “I do.”
